Technical Delivery Director

This is a critical leadership role that oversees the successful delivery of complex technology projects. The Technical Delivery Director will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

About the Role:

  • We are looking for an experienced Technology Delivery Director to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • You will provide technical guidance and support to project teams, leveraging your strong background in software development to inform decisions and strategies.
  • Partnership with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop low-level technical designs.
  • Plan, track, and manage project resources, including vendor management. Ensure effective onboarding and offboarding processes for team members.
  • Implement and promote Agile practices across teams to enhance collaboration, improve delivery speed, and foster continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks early in the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively communicate risks to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that quality standards are integrated into the development process. Monitor project deliverables to meet established quality gates.
  • Measure project progress using data-driven approaches. Conduct regular checkpoints (e.g., daily scrums, weekly meetings) to track actions and ensure accountability.
  • Mentor team members, fostering a culture of inclusiveness and collaboration. Encourage professional development through training and knowledge sharing.

This role is crucial for driving both innovation and operational excellence. The Technical Delivery Director acts as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, delivering successful technology projects while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 15-20 years of experience in technology delivery roles, with a strong track record of managing large-scale projects and teams.
  • Development Background: Significant experience in software development, including hands-on coding experience in relevant technologies.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong skills in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and tools (JIRA, Trello).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
