Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Solutions Expert to join our team. This is a key role that requires technical expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, install, tune, deploy, secure, migrate and upgrade DBMS installations with minimal downtime.
  • Maintain high-performing databases on Cloud and On-Prem platforms, ensuring always-available database tiers for backend data and frontend application accessibility.
  • Collaborate with Developers on design, code review, SQL query performance tuning, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Monitor database performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement HA/DR setup, replication, database encryption, Index and Filegroup management.
  • Regularly liaise with Managers, Developers, Operations, System and Database administrators to ensure seamless integration and effective problem-solving.
  • Suggest changes and improvements for management, maintenance and securing databases, and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of database programming languages (MSSQL/PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Knowledge of database backup-recovery, security and performance monitoring standards.
  • Understanding of database concepts – ACID properties, normal forms, DDL/DML, transaction logging, log shipping, Mirroring, High-Availability etc.
  • Experience in developing migration plans to migrate on-premises databases to Cloud (AWS/Azure).
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail and problem-solving attitude.

Benefits and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related information technology field with 6-8 years of experience in database administration or development.
  • Proficient knowledge in working, maintaining database technologies (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL etc.).
  • Working experience with database cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) including migration.
  • Relevant database certifications on cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure.

This is a full-time position requiring 6-8 years of experience in database administration or development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database concepts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
