Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in marketing and public relations as they develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for our hotel based on its specific goals and objectives. In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Marketing team to identify and pursue targeted markets and develop strategies to effectively engage these markets.

Marketing Management:

  • Develop a public relations program for the hotel, liaising with the Marketing department to target specific markets and develop strategies to reach these markets.
  • Establish and maintain media contacts, plan and execute press conferences, and act as the hotel's liaison with the media to promote positive publicity and counteract negative publicity.
  • Develop and organize promotional activities, coordinate with departments involved, invite VIPs and media to promotional events, and prepare and distribute press releases.
  • Identify and pursue sales leads from the study of magazines, newspapers, and personal contacts, coordinating sales leads with the Banqueting and Sales departments.
  • Disseminate corporate press releases to relevant local trade and consumer media.
  • Establish a regular program for sending promotional news to trade publications, releasing coverage of special events, promotions, and other newsworthy items.
  • Prepare and distribute promotional press releases on notable personalities among our guests and employees, as well as newsworthy events within the hotel.
  • Provide information to other departments on activities within and outside the hotel that may be useful when interacting with guests.
  • Accept and coordinate handling of clients' and media's complaints, requests, and inquiries.
  • Coordinate all activities with the Sales Manager.
  • Maintain positive public relations by providing personalized service to VIPs, including following up on their reservations, assisting in greeting them upon arrival, and sending welcome letters to VIP guests.
  • Coordinate guest lists and invitations for VIP receptions, luncheons, dinners, and other events.
  • Maintain clipping files related to the hotel based on daily media monitoring and provide them to the General Manager, other departments, other hotels, corporate public relations, and other relevant parties as needed.
  • Maintain a mailing list/contact file and a hotel photo file.
  • Liaise with the Human Resource Manager on matters affecting the corporate image.
  • Develop hotel gifts and giveaways.
  • Build a profile within the local market through attendance at various events and local marketplaces.
  • Coordinate hotel photography when required.
  • Monitor awareness of competitor activities and use this information when developing strategies.
  • Plan and coordinate sponsorship activities.
  • Supervise the maintenance of a mailing list consisting of a record of former and existing clients of the hotel.
  • Organize regular visits by professional individuals from the media and members of the trade to the hotel.
  • Present a summary of visits to the General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing on a regular basis.
  • Attend all official functions as a representative of the hotel.
  • Greet all VIP guests of the hotel.
  • Ensure that stationery and printed materials conform to the GRAND MERCURE standards.
  • Closely coordinate social events within the hotel.
  • Closely monitor matters related to PR activities of the hotel and other hotels (competitors) on a regular basis.
