Job Opportunity: Lead US Taxation Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced tax professional to lead our team in US taxation matters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in taxation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and direct a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex financial services client returns, including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Fund of Funds.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of State returns for financial services clients.
  • Identify international filing requirements by conducting organizational chart studies and reviewing international tax returns.
  • Train new staff members on tax concepts, technology, and provide timely feedback on project reviews.
  • Supervise kick-off calls to understand client needs, facilitate regular connections with US counterparts, and intervene in budget conflicts and resource scheduling issues.
  • Guide staff on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes and e-filing validations.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor team members.
  • Maintain constant connections with US counterparts to ensure adherence to timelines and high-quality results through consistent learning.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that achieves organizational goals.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for technical topics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to conduct independent tax research in unseen tax scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learner, positive attitude, and team player.
  • Ability to work long hours during busy seasons.
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
  • Effective multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and training skills.
  • Ability to build working relationships with peers, supervisors, and US colleagues.

Position Requirements:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (US) certification.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in detail review of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and Case ware software.
