Job Summary

This role is focused on implementing strategic objectives from a comprehensive procurement strategy, with an emphasis on ecosystem management.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, enabling them to plan, organize, and execute projects while considering priorities, resources, budgets, issues, and constraints to achieve desired outcomes.

They will also be skilled in mapping the value chain, analyzing it, and deriving potential scenarios, including total cost of ownership.

Financial knowledge and analytical expertise are necessary for participating in financial discussions with countries, applying this knowledge to actively participate in budgeting processes, including tax aspects in sourcing strategies and structuring complex deals with ecosystem partners.

This position requires strong compliance and risk management skills, with the ability to support reports that determine appropriate compliance levels and monitor end-to-end compliance (budget, payment, vendor PO, contract invoice, buying channel, etc.) and derive corrective actions to improve compliance.

The successful candidate will also be able to project the dynamics and impacts (e.g. mergers and acquisitions) and extract, cleanse, and consolidate information to fact-based insights for further usage e.g. in category strategies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement category strategic goals from overall procurement strategy / Ecosystem management
  • Maintain and update Procurement applications according to Procurement content
  • Project the dynamics and impacts (e.g. mergers and acquisitions)
  • Manage data analysis and reporting
  • Support definition and implementation of Procurement tools and processes
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to the procurement of fleet-related products and services
  • Proactive assessment of new ways of working, involving innovative scientific & technical solutions by identifying and onboarding the right suppliers
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders
Requirements

A university or advanced degree is required. A master's degree or other advanced degree is preferred. Relevant business experience of 2-5 years is required. Preferably > 5-10 years of experience in Procurement or other related experience within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in category management, supplier management, or related area, with a focus in the Fleet domain. Strong project management or other leadership experience is required. English and Japanese are mandatory; Mandarin is an added advantage.
