Job Description:

The role of an Assistant Manager - Raw Material Procurement is pivotal in manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include developing and executing procurement strategies for raw materials, evaluating suppliers, managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving any procurement-related issues.

It also involves monitoring market trends and pricing fluctuations for steel products, collaborating with production, quality control, finance, and plant planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs and quality standards.

Additionally, the position entails managing inventory levels effectively to balance between availability and cost, ensuring compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Maintaining accurate procurement documentation and preparing reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations are also key tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in raw material procurement in steel or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of HRC, coated steel, hot rolled plates, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Proficient in procurement SAP Hana applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures and supplier compliance is a plus.
