Scrap Metal Trader Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrap Metal Trader to join our dynamic team. With a proven track record of success in sourcing, negotiating, and closing deals, this role requires a deep understanding of market trends, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in the scrap metal trading industry. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Sourcing: Identifying and procuring scrap metal from various suppliers, including industrial manufacturers, demolition companies, and recycling facilities.
  2. Negotiation: Negotiating favorable terms and pricing with suppliers and buyers to maximize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
  3. Sales: Developing and maintaining relationships with existing clients while actively seeking out new business opportunities to expand the company's market share.
  4. Market Analysis: Staying abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting the scrap metal industry to inform decision-making and strategy.
  5. Logistics Coordination: Coordinating the transportation and logistics of scrap metal shipments, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with safety regulations.
  6. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards governing the scrap metal trading industry.

The successful candidate will possess:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in scrap metal trading, with a strong network of industry contacts.
  3. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
  4. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with clients and suppliers.
  5. Strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of market dynamics.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with trading software and platforms.
