Financial Operations Manager Job Description

This role is responsible for managing the financial operations of an organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting.

  • Preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and other accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure no fraudulent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  2. Development and implementation of up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organization.
  3. Management of the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software applications, including collaboration with IT colleagues to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems.
  4. Preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports to authorities and provision of support to other departments in their preparation and review of regulatory reports.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant and post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in a month-end or quarter-end focused reporting role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key accounting principles under IFRS.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Previous experience with having used either SAP or Hyperion.

  • Good stakeholder engagement skills and understanding.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter, pro-active, and a team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator.
  • Eye for detail and exception track record in managing and resolving conflict situations.
  • Minimal supervisory oversight and able to perform duties with minimal or no guidance.
