Portfolio Manager Position

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to implement, configure, and operationalize a project portfolio management system. The consultant will lead process configuration, cost control, forecasting, and EVM integrations with upstream systems, as well as build standardized reporting analytics.

This role involves configuring portfolios, projects, contracts modules, designing cost classes, coding structures, WBS, timesheet budget forecasting workflows, change controls, and governance templates. Additionally, the consultant will establish baselines, progress capture, EACEVM calculations, variance analysis, dashboards, and implement standardized monthly cycle forecast accruals, KPIs.

The successful candidate will orchestrate integrations between the project portfolio management system and ERP (e.g., SAP, CRM, SFDC, schedulers, Primavera P6, MS Project, EDW, Snowflake, IICS) to enable single source reporting. They will also build portfolio and project dashboards, KPI, cost schedule performance, funding vs actuals, leveraging reports, align to reporting cadences.

To achieve this, the Portfolio Manager will translate governance into processes, gates, approvals, auditability, author SOPs, Runbooks, and conduct user training. They will engage program leads, finance controllers, PMs, and data teams, manage change requests, and cutovers aligned to Service Level Agreement deliverables.

Required Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years of experience in project portfolio management, project controls, 3 years hands-on configuration, and administration of the project portfolio management system.
  • Strong cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and Earned Value Management knowledge, including monthly close processes.
  • Proven integration experience with SAP, SFDC, EDW, Snowflake, IICS, or similar, ETL ability to define source to project portfolio management system mappings.
  • Reporting skills, native to the project portfolio management system, plus Power BI, Tableau for enterprise distribution.
  • Solid SQL data modeling fundamentals, Agile delivery, Scrum, SAFe.
