Job Purpose

As a Customer Service Officer at DBS Bank, you will be responsible for executing all aspects related to branch operations in a timely and effective manner. This includes ensuring effective customer service, achieving own targets, and supporting the achievement of the branch target through effective upselling and cross-selling to customers.

Key Accountabilities

Fulfill all responsibilities in relation to:

  • Contribute to efficient operation of the branch through accurate & timely processing of customer related transactions and account maintenance
  • Ensure achievement of own targets and support branch target achievement through effective upselling and cross-selling to customers
  • Support the branch operations officer in book-keeping and maintenance of documents

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and bank policies for all processes related to banking transactions. This includes processing cash transactions, transfer transactions, and clearing of instruments, as well as receipt and processing of cheques, demand drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders, and other instruments.

Process requests for new account opening, transaction updation, etc., either jointly with an officer or independently, upon specific authorisation in this regard. Provide customer service requests, respond to customer service account inquiries such as account balances, transaction details, statements, and fees/charges. Address customer queries and grievances within the defined timelines and escalate when required to the appropriate authorities.

Required Experience

2-4 years of banking experience is required for this role.

Education / Preferred Qualifications

A graduate preferably in Banking/Commerce is preferred.

Core Competencies

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role. Ability to build strong relationships with clients, responsible, ability to meet deadlines, and knowledge about internal/external regulations are also required.

Technical Competencies

Good computer knowledge is necessary for this role.

Work Relationship

A team player with self-motivation and initiative is required for this role.
