Job Overview

Educational Technology Platform Architect needed to lead the design and development of a comprehensive SaaS platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud architecture, full-stack engineering, and team leadership.

This role is instrumental in shaping the technical foundation of the platform, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and document the current platform architecture, identifying bottlenecks and developing a formal Architecture Gap Report.
  • Translate product epics into modular service contracts, data flow diagrams, and scalable system components.
  • Decide and implement optimal architectural patterns, including monolith vs. microservices, REST vs. event-driven, and DB index vs. cache.
  • Drive scalable multi-tenant architecture for user/workspace models and complex permission systems.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an architecture or senior technical leadership role.
  • Strong full-stack expertise with MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
  • Demonstrated success in designing multi-tenant architectures and scalable systems handling 1,000+ requests per minute.
  • Advanced proficiency in AWS, including EC2, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFront, and Cognito.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines).
  • Experience working with observability stacks like Datadog, New Relic, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of summarizing trade-offs clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with education platforms or SaaS tools for service businesses.
  • Experience with event brokers such as Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ.
  • Deep knowledge of schema design, role-based access control, and data migration in NoSQL environments.
