About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Governance Specialist - Financial Reporting to join our team at American Express. This role will be responsible for ensuring governance and oversight of regulatory reporting processes, performing Quality Assurance reviews, and identifying control gaps and improvement opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Quality Assurance of Reporting, U.S. Regulatory Reporting, data analytics, data controls, and understanding of data transformation logics. Knowledge of financial reporting, banking products, and auditing is a plus. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to interact independently with senior business partners/customers, and have analytical skills and inclination for process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Assurance program for US Regulatory Reporting and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting guidelines;
  • Coordinate with regulatory reporting, technology, data governance, service management teams to ensure quality assurance over regulatory reporting processes;
  • Understand master and reference data to be used across operational and regulatory reporting processes;
  • Prepare key metrics and support compliance with Quality Assurance Regulatory Reporting Governance policy;
  • Schedule periodic process certification and control testing activities as per PRSA guidelines.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in Accounting/Reporting;
  • PG in commerce/MBA/Chartered Accountant a plus;
  • Prior experience with U.S. regulatory/SEC reporting or public accounting a plus;
  • MS Office suite (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint) proficiency;
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and financial accounting experience preferred.
