Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and supporting IT infrastructure, including Windows and macOS environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS operating systems, ensuring seamless user experience and optimal system performance.
  2. Troubleshoot hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, utilizing advanced diagnostic skills to resolve problems efficiently.
  3. Install, update, and patch software applications and security tools, adhering to industry best practices for data protection and compliance.
  4. Provide day-to-day support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration among team members.
  5. Support system provisioning via Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, leveraging technical expertise to automate processes and enhance productivity.
  6. Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions using Active Directory, maintaining a secure and organized network environment.
  7. Assist with system upgrades, data migrations, and routine backups, ensuring business continuity and minimizing downtime.
  8. Troubleshoot basic network issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi) and VPN connectivity problems, utilizing knowledge of network fundamentals to resolve complex issues.
  9. Perform basic configuration and support of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring optimal network performance and security.
  10. Assist in IP address configuration and network printer setup, maintaining a stable and efficient network infrastructure.
  11. Monitor and maintain network performance at the location, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance overall network health.
  12. Respond to IT support tickets, ensuring timely and effective resolution, and documenting technical issues, solutions, and IT processes accurately.
  13. Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry best practices, maintaining a secure and reliable IT environment.

Requirements:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Basic understanding of Firewalls and Layer 2 Switches, with the ability to apply knowledge in practical scenarios.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools for ticket management, with experience in utilizing these tools to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
