The Programme Director will play a critical role in advancing the programme portfolio by designing, steering, and scaling impactful initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
- Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals.
- Provide guidance to project teams to strengthen operational efficiency and responsiveness.
- Engage with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organisations to strengthen programme outcomes.
- Represent the organisation in external forums as required.
- Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
- Encourage a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
- Ensure effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies.
- Support preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products.
- Contribute inputs to budget planning and monitor utilisation in assigned programme areas.
- Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline.
- At least 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts.
