Job Overview

RightShop is building a robust backend infrastructure. We're seeking an experienced Backend Developer with expertise in designing and maintaining scalable systems.

This role requires someone who can architect data flows, implement secure authentication/authorization, and integrate search APIs.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering and system architecture, with a strong grasp of data flows, infrastructure, and integration patterns.

They should be proficient with REST APIs, containerization, serverless environments, CDNs, and WAFs, as well as have working knowledge of PII/PHI/GDPR handling in production systems.

We're looking for an analytical thinker who can work independently and collaborate effectively, with clear English communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend components and APIs.
  • Help architect data flows across various systems.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization.
  • Support search API integrations and external API integrations.
  • Set up monitoring and observability.
  • Remain aware of and build for data regulations.
  • Containerize solutions for scalability and compute flexibility.
  • Write adapters and manage schema diffs.
  • Collaborate across teams to find gaps and make suggestions.
