Our company is seeking a seasoned Backend Developer to join our agile team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for designing and implementing APIs, data flows, and integrations on AWS that power our next-generation AI-powered Search & Engagement platform.The ideal candidate will have solid experience building backend services with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis) and hands-on knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch (indexing, search queries). Additionally, they will have expertise in designing and scaling APIs (REST/GraphQL, OpenAPI), familiarity with event-driven architectures, and proficiency in at least one backend language (Python or Node.js preferred).As a member of our engineering team, you will collaborate daily with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver a secure and scalable system that meets performance targets (e.g., < 2.5s retrieval time) and compliance standards. You will work closely with architects, frontend developers, and AI/ML engineers to design and implement search and retrieval features in OpenSearch (keyword + vector search, ranking).Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, the candidate must have:
  • Solid experience building backend services with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis)
  • Hands-on knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch (indexing, search queries)
  • Experience designing and scaling APIs (REST/GraphQL, OpenAPI)
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and basic data pipelines
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python or Node.js preferred)
