Job Title: Payroll Expert

The role of the payroll expert involves end-to-end payroll management, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, compliance with labor and tax regulations, and payroll-related reporting. This position requires strong attention to detail, thorough knowledge of statutory laws, and effective coordination with multiple stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage monthly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Validate and reconcile inputs such as attendance, leave records, new joiners, exits, salary revisions, and variable pay.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity, and other applicable labor laws).
  • Handle employee queries related to salary, taxation, and payroll policies.
  • Prepare payroll MIS, reports, and analytics for management review.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Support process automation, audits, and continuous improvement in payroll systems.

Requirements:

  • A graduate or postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, or HR.
  • MBA/PGDM or CMA/CA certification is desirable.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in payroll management, preferably with expertise in Indian payroll.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, including SAP and ADP.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced formulas and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of income tax and statutory compliance.

Behavioural Skills:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
