Our company is seeking a highly skilled Physical Design Engineer.
This position involves working on challenging designs and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to articulate complex ideas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-layout static timing analysis to assess design feasibility and provide feedback to customers and design teams.
- Conduct chip/block level floorplanning and pin assignment to optimize design efficiency.
- Review top-level/block-level clock specifications for completeness and feasibility.
- Handle all physical design tasks, including placement, timing optimization, clock tree synthesis, and routing.
- Perform sign-off tasks, such as RC extraction, static timing analysis, IR drop analysis, and physical verification.
- Present project updates and interact with customers during meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in ASIC physical design.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing EDA tools like ICC2/Innovus.
- Strong scripting skills in Perl, Tcl, or Python.
- Excellent understanding of ASIC frontend design principles.
- Experience in both flat and hierarchical layouts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and resolve physical design issues related to libraries, timing constraints, or CAD tools.
- Experience with power analysis and IR-drop tools like PrimePower/Redhawk and Static Timing Analysis (Primetime).
- Expertise in handling Verilog HDL-based netlists and physical design libraries.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex processes and answer customer questions during meetings.
