The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze commercial and technical data of electronic components, PCB gerbers, and assemblies for generating and supporting different types of cost out, resiliency, and new product introduction projects.
This role requires developing and executing category-wise strategies in close collaboration with various cross-functional teams like procurement organization, product development teams, and suppliers across the globe.
- Engineering Data Improvement for Electronics Components
- Contribution in Data Libraries Development
- Reduction of new product development times by suggesting cost-effective and technically compatible products from strategic suppliers of the category
The incumbent needs to have knowledge of requirements related to electrical and electronic products development. They must be able to leverage data analytics and ideation principles to create new project opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze spend data to find gaps for cost out in different types of electronics components and printed circuit boards (PCB) etc.
- Contribute in building strategies to drive enterprise-wide cost-out, resiliency projects for the category, working along with global procurement leaders, engineering counterparts, and supply chain team.
- Engineering data improvement for electronics category components, PCB, and box build components.
- Drive productivity by supplier consolidations, key data improvements, avoiding part proliferation.
- Demonstrate the application of basic engineering tools, principles, and evidence of creative thinking through component selection, PCB fabrication knowledge, preliminary validation through simulations or engineering analytics.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Understanding of PCB fabrication, gerbers, electronic component specifications, lifecycles, and industry standards
- Awareness of applicable standards and environmental compliances - IEC, UL, ISO, RoHS, REACH etc.
- Hands-on expertise in PCB CAD tools like Altium, CAM350, and other leading tools in the market
- Strong knowledge in finding out gaps for electronic cost out on products
- Knowledge on design, testing, and validation of various hardware products
