Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the credit risk, underwriting, and portfolio management functions.

This individual will play a pivotal role in setting up and driving the credit strategy, policies, and processes aligned with business goals.

  • Define, implement, and monitor credit policies, frameworks, and processes for SME lending and supply chain financing.
  • Lead the credit appraisal and underwriting function, including assessment of borrower risk, financial due diligence, and creditworthiness evaluation.
  • Oversee portfolio quality, delinquency management, and design early warning mechanisms to mitigate risk.
  • Work closely with business, risk, and operations teams to balance growth objectives with prudent credit practices.
  • Present credit proposals and portfolio performance updates to senior management and regulators as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 8–15 years of experience in credit risk/underwriting, preferably with fintechs or banks with strong SME exposure.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain finance, bill discounting, invoice financing, and related credit products.
  • Proven ability to build credit frameworks from scratch and manage large loan books with quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory norms, compliance requirements, and guidelines.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • CA/MBA/FRM or equivalent qualification preferred.
