Material Planner Coordinator

Job OverviewThe Materials Planning Team is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials throughout the production cycle. Key responsibilities include determining material quantities and order dates to meet production or engineering schedules, initiating purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and developing schedules for production facilities based on forecasts and historical analysis.
The team also develops specifications for new contract orders, forecasts labor requirements, and provides timely and accurate input on supplier performance. Additionally, they may participate in higher-level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team and monitor costs, schedules, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure best quality at best value.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and steer customer orders under consideration of capacities, order times, inventory limitations, and delivery performance (monitoring ship-to-request).
- Identify delivery difficulties and initiate measures to fulfill delivery dates (e.g., replacement purchases, adjusting production and delivery sequences) or differing dates to align with Customer Service.
- Schedule parts/materials to ensure undisturbed material supply in terms of quantities and delivery dates, aligned with general and existing specifications.
- Guarantee deliveries in terms of quantities and dates, even in critical situations.
- Correct and proactively monitor demand based on data and IT systems, control delivery schedules, adjust surplus materials, and wrong parts.
- Generate and release delivery schedules and align with suppliers (both internal and external); dispose special parts (critical in manufacturing and for customers).
- Initiate measures to guarantee production and customer deliveries in case of shortages and other delivery problems (e.g., delivery shortages, quality issues, force majeure), such as alternative suppliers under the prerequisite of quality, economics, and reliability.
- Order critical parts on time and well ahead.
- Support plans for scrapping and surplus, and not needed material.
- Propose solutions to improve Planning KPIs with Supply Chain & Analytics.
- Manage mid-long-term escalations with suppliers to customers.
A degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management is required. Minimum 3+ years of work experience in Supplier Planning & Supply Chain is essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Strong knowledge in SAP, MS Office, Access, and SharePoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in a fast-moving environment.
- First-class prioritizing skills in a rapidly changing environment with conflicting demands.
- A team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
- Ability to use your own initiative and work effectively under Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, and Teamwork.
A competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $100,000 - $140,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location). The company reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
