Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Cargo Operations Expert to lead our strategic cargo planning and execution initiatives. This role involves developing and implementing effective strategies to meet customer requirements and vessel schedules, ensuring timely allocation of bookings and collaborating with the planning team to secure space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cargo Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic cargo planning and execution strategies to meet customer requirements and vessel schedules.
  • Rate Management & Customer Negotiations: Lead the process of rate quotation and negotiation, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.
  • Vessel & Booking Coordination: Ensure timely allocation of bookings in the system and with carriers, collaborate with the planning team to secure space.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management: Supervise coordination with the inventory and MNR teams for container allocation, optimize container inventory planning to meet customer demands and minimize turnaround time.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Communication: Ensure customers receive updated vessel schedules based on cargo readiness, drive efficient communication with customers regarding container pickup status.
  • Operational Oversight & Compliance: Validate and approve any dimension changes, liaising with pricing teams, supervise the linking of containers with carriers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Performance Monitoring & Process Optimization: Monitor key performance metrics across planning, execution, and customer service functions, implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Post-Shipment Coordination: Ensure timely ON-BOARD confirmation is shared with customers, direct the team to complete entries post-shipment confirmation.
