Database Technical Lead Job Description

At the core of our data-driven organization, we require a seasoned Database Technical Lead to spearhead our database development efforts. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical expertise and strong leadership skills to drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of our databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Develop Database Solutions: Design, develop, test, release, maintain, and provide technical support for database development.
  2. Optimize Database Performance: Review and optimize PL/SQL packages for changes, performance, and tuning improvements.
  3. Coding Skills: Possess coding skills to write complex SQL queries, views, and MVs as well as PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
  4. Ensure High Availability: Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions are in place.
  5. Query Optimization: Analyze query execution plans and optimize queries for speed and resource utilization.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and data analysts to support database-related needs.
  7. Scripting and Automation: Develop scripts and tools for database monitoring, management, and automation.
  8. Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
  9. Escalation Point: Act as the escalation point for complex database-related problems.
Requirements:
  • Agile Development Environment: Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment (Scrum, XP, TDD).
  • Analytical and Logical Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of database developers.
  • Managerial Skills: Strong Managerial Skills.
  • Experience: 6-10 years' Experience.
  • Education: B.Tech/B.E (must), Master's Degree (Preferred).
