Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver vessel performance that is significantly superior to what clients could achieve themselves or by using other ship managers.
  • Drive the transformation of the fleet cell model by leveraging technology, data, and innovative ways of working.
  • Ensure that the company's Safety & Quality Management System (SMS) is established across offices and the managed fleet, with sufficient resources available to enable safe and efficient operations, while maintaining full regard for the environment and property.
  • Proactively develop client relationships by continuously improving service levels in accordance with the relevant Management Agreements, enhancing customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Ensure that all relevant management processes, procedures, and systems are in place and executed across the managed fleet according to required standards and expectations.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of the annual budget process across the managed fleet, ensuring budget targets are met, revenue streams are maximized, and fixed costs minimized.
  • In collaboration with Crew Management, ensure that qualified, competent, and experienced personnel are appointed, retained, and developed in key positions, both ashore and afloat, and that essential knowledge and skills are maintained.
  • Partner with Marine Services to explore the full range of potential marine service offerings across the managed fleet, maximizing the value the client can provide.
  • Provide guidance to Fleet Managers to ensure awareness of local industry developments and relevant statutory regulations.
  • Ensure risk assessments for all existing and new business projects are in place, initiated, executed, and closed out in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, Naval Architect, or a similar qualification in a marine-related managerial role.
  • Strong technical understanding and knowledge of all requirements for the safe and efficient operation of a managed fleet, combined with experience in managing financial budgets.
  • Solid understanding of Port State Control, Flag State, MLCC compliance, and vessel classification.
  • Proven experience in managing and supervising teams, with the ability to share knowledge and develop staff.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of engaging with individuals at all levels.
  • High personal integrity and ethical standards.
  • Positive and self-motivated team leader with a proactive attitude.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical reasoning skills, using data to inform decision-making, with a keen attention to detail.
