Structural Design Engineer - Petrochemical Plants

This role involves undertaking structural design and detailing work for assigned projects in Petrochemical Plants, Oil & Gas Plants, in accordance with established procedures.

  • Undertake basic and detailed design engineering activities.
  • Preparation of PFD, P&ID's, project specific specifications, design calculations and analysis, procurement specification.
  • Interface with other disciplines, user departments and clients.
  • Estimation/engineering work related to bids.
Responsibilities
  • Qualification: Bachelor/Master's Degree in civil and structural engineering.
  • Skills Required: Proficiency in Staad Pro, ETABS, SAP, Staad Foundation preferable. Conversant with FEM based connection design tools like Ideastatica. Working knowledge of Auto Cad and other 3D tools like Tekla Structure, Navisworks, SPR etc.
  • Conversant with StaadPro & SAP software.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of structural steel/reinforced concrete design & detailing of Process/non process buildings Machine foundations Pipe rack Factory Buildings etc.
  • Responsible for quality checks, quality assurance of reviewed drawings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation and piping.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members from project management, estimating, and project controls.
  • Strong organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide supporting design calculations.
  • Must have experience in independently reviewing analysis files.
  • Must hold strong knowledge of strength, buckling, fatigue and dynamic behaviour of structures.

  • Familiarity with 3D environment working with software such as SP3D, TEKLA.
  • Team lead in medium to large size relevant project.
  • Process knowledge and ability to develop team.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to produce coherent, self-explanatory reports such as technical documents, market research analysis and business advisory.
