Electrical Design Engineer for Semiconductor Capital Equipment

We are seeking a skilled electrical design engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing control systems, motor drives, and motion control systems for semiconductor capital equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of innovative products that change lives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, with expertise in drive selection, motor sizing, and motion control principles. They will also have experience with risk assessment and compliance with SEMI S14, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL standards.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. They will also be proficient in SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD, and PLM systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems, motor drives, and motion control systems for semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Work with industrial I/O systems, including B&R PLCs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with SEMI S14, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture and clarify technical requirements, load/motion integration for new and existing projects.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and lead a team of engineers when required.
  • Maintain electrical schematics, I/O lists, cable routing diagrams, and BOMs using SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Manage and maintain product data in PLM systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of drive selection, motor sizing, and motion control principles.
  • Experience with SEMI S14 risk assessment, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL compliance.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PLM systems.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting skills for drives, control circuits, and industrial I/O.
Educational Background

A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required. Relevant coursework should include circuit analysis, electromagnetics, control systems, and computer programming.

Certifications and Licenses

Certification in SEMI S14, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL standards is highly desirable. A valid driver's license is required for occasional travel to customer sites.
