Green Mobility Project Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled professional to play a key role in implementing road safety, green mobility, and low emission zones in Indian cities.

This position involves managing strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of urbanization. The successful candidate will work closely with municipal corporations, UPPCB, RTO, traffic police, and state EV cell to implement LEZ efficiently.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Low Emission Zones in Mathura and Vrindavan
  • Develop and operationalize a tailored LEZ framework for Mathura
  • Conduct baseline assessments of vehicular and industrial emissions in the city
  • Identify vehicle categories, emission thresholds, and compliance strategies for LEZ
  • Propose monitoring mechanisms (including use of Vahan data, ANPR, on-ground enforcement)
  • Assess and recommend sustainable mobility solutions: EV adoption pathways, public transport electrification, NMT integration, and multimodal connectivity
  • Support roadmap preparation for EV integration across municipal transport operations (buses, freight, paratransit)
  • Develop policies for encouraging clean fuels, scrappage of end-of-life vehicles, and charging infrastructure development
  • Collaborate with local businesses, citizen groups, and transport operators to ensure smooth LEZ implementation
  • Support awareness and capacity-building activities
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Design Analysis and Project Development: Understand site-specific urban challenges and create viable design strategies and proposals for resolution
  • Tactical Urbanism: Collaborate with the team to implement temporary design changes (tactical urbanism trials) to test improvements and gather feedback
  • Training and Development: Conduct workshops to raise awareness and build capacity on street design and road safety principles
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare progress reports for donors, summarizing program activities and achievements
  • Creative Development: Create visual aids like posters and presentations for training programs and community engagement initiatives

Our ideal candidate has a Master's degree in environmental science, urban planning, or design, and/or allied disciplines, along with 2+ years of experience working on urban spatial and/or environmental issues. Excellent research, data analysis, and communication skills are required.
