Lead Structural Engineer for Port Development

We are seeking an experienced structural engineer to lead the design, analysis, and execution of key structural components for major port development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive structural engineering solutions for port infrastructure projects, including breakwaters, jetties, quays, docks, and seawalls.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of port infrastructure projects, ensuring quality standards, project timelines, and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with contractors, consultants, government agencies, and other engineers to integrate structural designs into overall projects, promoting efficient communication and problem-solving.
  • Safeguard risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee construction activities on-site, providing technical guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring high-quality standards for structural integrity and sustainability.
  • Prioritize cost-effectiveness, resilience, and environmental sustainability in structural design and implementation.
  • Maintain accurate progress reports, design reviews, and technical documentation for stakeholders, guaranteeing transparency and adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with significant focus on marine and port infrastructure projects.
  • Postgraduate degree in Structural Engineering or a related field, with specialization in marine structures or coastal engineering.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale port projects, encompassing budgeting, scheduling, and multidisciplinary team management.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, and other tools for design and analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of marine structures and their response to wave forces, tide variations, sediment movement, and marine environmental conditions.
  • Able to lead and manage teams effectively, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and meet project milestones.
  • Familiarity with contract management, procurement, and regulatory compliance is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to present design concepts and project progress to various stakeholders and clients.
