
Inventory Control Specialist

The primary goal of this role is to maintain optimal inventory levels. This involves performing inventory analysis and making recommendations for stock levels. The selected candidate will be responsible for defining and maintaining these levels, ensuring that the environment of the inventory stock room meets requirements for each product.
This position requires effective management skills, as the professional will be in charge of managing staffing, development, and performance management of materials management workers. Ensuring proper labor relations is also a key aspect of this job.
A critical component of this role is the ability to work with distribution processes, issues, and considerations. This includes effectively managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory to stores and/or customers. Additionally, the successful candidate will need to maintain item and inventory management records and help minimize bottlenecks and delays.
This Inventory Management Professional will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the flow of goods, services, and information from raw materials to end customers. They must possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to analyze and resolve operational or process problems efficiently.
In order to excel in this position, one must have knowledge of supply chain management functions, principles, and techniques. This includes developing and implementing strategies, practices, and tools for controlling the entire process. The selected candidate will also participate in supply chain analysis, spot trends, and identify improvement opportunities.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as the professional will work closely with various stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, and internal teams. A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is desired, but equivalent experience will be considered.
This Inventory Management Professional will contribute to the overall business strategy by providing data-driven insights and recommendations. They must be proactive, adaptable, and able to navigate complex systems and processes.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Perform receiving, ticketing, checking in, and distributing of inventory items; produce basic inventory management reports; track inventory information for specific product groups or locations.
- Distribution Center Management: Work with Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) basic processes and operations; maintain item and inventory management records; assist in resolving physical space management issues.
- Supply Chain Management: Recognize software systems or components used to manage supply chain; participate in supply chain analysis; discuss considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.
