Job Title: Automation Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Automation Control Specialist to design, develop, and implement control systems in a manufacturing environment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of automation devices and providing technical support for field installations and startups.

  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), operator interface programs, and variable frequency drives.
  • Strong working knowledge of automation devices operating in manufacturing environments is essential.
  • The successful candidate will be able to program and configure PLCs, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and drives.
  • An in-depth understanding of field sensors, including flow, temperature, pressure, and level transmitters, is required.
  • Candidates must be capable of providing field service and technical support.
  • Knowledge of sanitary and industrial processes (e.g., CIP, SIP, DI water) and their application in system design is necessary.
  • The selected individual will be involved in hands-on field installations and start-up support for assigned projects.
  • Supervising control panel fabrication when required is also a key aspect of this role.
  • Conducting equipment training sessions for clients and creating installation documentation is an added responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics).
  • Proficient in PLC and HMI programming (experience with Allen Bradley systems is essential).
  • Familiarity with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems (preferably FactoryTalk) and visual basic applications (VBA).
  • Understanding of structured query language (SQL) databases and reporting tools (e.g., XL Reporter).
  • Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
  • Project management experience is an added advantage.
