Business Development Role

Job Summary:

  • The Sales Officer role is responsible for acquiring new customer relationships in the current accounts segment and generating new business opportunities from identified catchments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing quality current accounts with a focus on product mix, segments, and constitution mix to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Providing initial customer handholding and activation services, including advising customers on products and documentation, opening accounts within agreed timelines, and familiarizing them with branch services and processes.
  • Ensuring proactive registration and activation of acquired customers to direct banking channels to enhance their overall experience.
  • Collaborating with the Business Relationship Leader to identify opportunities, analyze customer needs, and provide feedback on competition benchmarking and market trends.
  • Meeting and exceeding defined targets for new customer acquisition through ongoing analysis of transaction banking needs and preferences.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to selling norms, guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and maintain high standards of professionalism.
  • Ensuring sourcing quality that meets bank policy requirements and adhering to sales process and Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to analyze complex customer needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their expectations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services, particularly in the current accounts segment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
