Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a business and technical champion for assigned data domains.
  • Create & Maintain metadata, business glossary, and data catalog entries in DG tools like Collibra, Altion, Informatica or similar.
  • Collaborate with data owners to enforce data definitions, classifications, and data quality rules.
  • Perform data profiling, issue identification, and remediation coordination.
  • Support the onboarding of new data assets (cataloging, lineage, and stewardship assignments).
  • Assist in governance tool configuration, workflow management, and integration automation.
  • Work with engineering teams to support PII tagging, data masking, and access governance.
  • Provide training and support to business users in using governance tools effectively.
  • Deploy the master data governance framework and use supporting data management tools.
  • Define data quality metrics and monitor data quality performance against established targets.
  • Conduct regular data governance reviews and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Implement and monitor data quality rules, validation checks, and exception handling.
  • Collaborate with teams to align data delivery with business and reporting requirements.
  • Document data processes, standards, and lineage to support governance and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Operations of Data Governance
  • Hands-on experience with Collibra (catalog, lineage, workflows, API integrations)
  • Experience with data management tools (e.g., data catalogs, MDM systems, data quality platforms)
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data classification practices
  • Technical skills in SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs for tool integration and automation
  • Familiarity with Google cloud platform (GCP) will be a plus
  • Excellent communication and ability to liaise between business users and technical teams
