Commercial Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team in Mumbai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the chartering of owned vessels, developing commercial strategies, and ensuring profitable employment of the fleet.

This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in vessel chartering and bulk carrier operations.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Managing chartering activities for owned bulk carriers, including spot, time charter, and contract fixtures.
  • Liaising with brokers, charterers, and operators to identify and secure cargoes and employment opportunities.
  • Negotiating charter party terms and overseeing the preparation of post-fixture documentation.
  • Monitoring market movements, freight indices, and competitor activities to support commercial decisions.
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as operations, technical, and legal teams to ensure seamless contract execution.
  • Analyzing voyage results, evaluating profitability, and contributing to performance and market reporting.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of fixtures, voyage outcomes, and client interactions.
  • Providing market insights and feedback to senior management for strategic planning.
  • Representing the company at client meetings, industry events, and networking platforms to enhance business development.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial shipping or vessel chartering, with exposure to bulk carriers.
  • Strong expertise in vessel chartering and bulk carrier operations.
