Electrical Design Engineer Job

As a skilled Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems and equipment that meet the needs of our clients.

  • Create electrical designs and specifications for various projects.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design documents.
  • Perform independent calculations for electrical equipment such as transformers, DG sets, cables (HV & LV), lighting, grounding, AC/DC UPS, NGR and capacitor sizing.
  • Develop and/or lead the design of electrical master plans for facilities encompassing reliable power distribution, motor control centers, energy efficient lighting systems, communications and telecom routing, instrumentation and controls for HVAC systems, fire alarm interface, building level uninterrupted power systems (UPS).

Engine generators are also part of this role.

  • Review electrical designs and specifications of equipment or systems being purchased or fabricated.
  • Provide electrical design direction and resource management on multidiscipline projects.
  • Develop concept studies, designs, detail single line diagram (SLD) for HV/LV systems, layouts for power/grounding/lighting and narratives.
  • Participate in the identification, recruiting and management of resources to meet the needs of the business.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Our ideal Electrical Design Engineer will have:

Certifications/Skills:

  • Possess knowledge of all applicable standards and codes.
  • AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), and strong computer skills necessary to accomplish electrical designs.
  • Software Skills: SPELL, ETAP/SKM and Dialux/Visual.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.

Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in the design, installation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge of control systems and fundamental communication interfaces.
  • Demonstrated abilities as a project discipline lead.
  • Data center or telecommunication facility experience.
  • Knowledge of critical facility design and infrastructure.
  • Sound understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC), 70E, 75, 101, 780 and other applicable sections and standards like IEEE and IEC.
