Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Delivery Head in the IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of IT projects and services, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT delivery teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve IT delivery processes and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Manage and coordinate geographically dispersed teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with HSBC's policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders and IT teams.
  • Provide leadership and direction to IT delivery teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and report on project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional experience in a large global organization, preferably in an IT department or shared service organization.
  • Experience in COO/Cost and Commercial/Business Management/Human Resources function with multinational organizations.
  • Some project management experience with a strong track record of successfully implementing large-scale change programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of HSBC structures, processes, and objectives, particularly in the business management field.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate geographically dispersed teams.
  • Knowledge of engineering will be an added advantage.
  • Proven track record in business/project finances.
  • Proven stakeholder management/relationship management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details while also seeing and understanding the big picture.
  • Experience of working on a global scale (across time zones and geography and with remote teams).
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure, and proactively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to take on work with minimum guidance and lead as own initiatives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Positive, proactive, and can-do Excel skills.
