About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Merchandising Specialist, where you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end merchandising process from order inquiry to final shipment. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely production, quality control, and delivery of garments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate with Buyers and Vendors: Act as the primary point of contact between buyers and internal teams (production, design, quality, etc.) to ensure seamless communication and timely approvals.
  2. Develop Samples and Manage Timelines: Create high-quality samples based on buyer requirements and manage Time and Action (TNA) calendars to ensure timely delivery.
  3. Source Raw Materials and Monitor Production: Source raw materials, follow up on production schedules, and ensure quality parameters are met to deliver exceptional products.
  4. Procure Trims and Fabrics: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement of trims and fabrics to meet customer demands.
  5. Monitor Order Status and Delivery: Track order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to avoid delays and ensure timely delivery.
  6. Prepare Costing Sheets and Negotiate Prices: Prepare detailed costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers to optimize profitability.
  7. Manage Buyer Communications: Provide regular updates, changes, and queries to buyers regarding order status, production progress, and delivery timelines.
  8. Conduct Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and buyer expectations to make informed decisions.
  9. Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure accurate records, reports, and documentation for merchandising activities to support business decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with ERP/MIS systems.
  • Knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
