Job Description for Mechanical HOD- Bromine Plant

The primary function of the Mechanical Head of Department is to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of all plant equipment and utilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead the mechanical department and direct a team of engineers, technicians, and fitters. Develop and implement maintenance strategies to enhance plant reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Assisting in Project Execution: Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of plant machinery, utilities, pipelines, and static/rotating equipment. Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensuring Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and drive implementation of safety procedures in mechanical operations. Conduct root cause analysis of failures and ensure corrective/preventive actions.
  • Project Management: Plan and execute mechanical modifications, upgrades, and expansion projects. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants for project execution.
  • People Development: Mentor and develop mechanical engineering teams for high performance. Monitor departmental KPIs, maintenance costs, and energy efficiency.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8-10 years of experience, preferably in a Bromine Plant environment
