Software Development Engineer II

We are seeking an exceptional Software Development Engineer II to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality e-commerce websites on Shopify.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and excellent communication abilities. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to create seamless and visually appealing online stores that meet our clients' needs.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify e-commerce websites.
  • Extend theme's functionality for custom cart, filters, or similar requirements.
  • Work with metaobject and metafield structuring for complex data structures.
  • Collaborate with designers and other developers to understand the key problem and implement the solution with the right approach.
  • Define, design, and ship new features with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with front-end JavaScript libraries like React, Vue, Svelte, etc.
  • Competence in Vanilla JavaScript (ES6) including async JavaScript.
  • Experience in Liquid and SCSS (or tailwind / MUI).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly document and report issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Shopify developer or relevant skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with Shopify development is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Shopify metaobject and metafield structures is advantageous.
  • Portfolio of past projects demonstrating the required skills and experience.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with Shopify's Liquid template language and Shopify's app ecosystem.
  • Experience with API testing and third-party integrations (e.g., payment gateways, shipping apps).
  • Understanding of Shopify themes, plugins, and how customizations are handled in Shopify stores.
