Occupational Summary:

About the Role

This position entails providing critical emergency services to ensure airport safety and efficiency. The key responsibilities involve ensuring fire vehicles are in top condition, supervising personnel during crucial operations, participating in training programs, conducting routine communication tests, and leading team members.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain Crash Fire Tenders and equipment in excellent working order to guarantee readiness for emergencies.
  • Supervise firefighters during apparatus cylinder filling according to established regulations and manufacturer instructions.
  • Participate in extensive training programs, including classes, lectures, practical exercises, and physical training sessions, to enhance job performance and technical expertise.
  • Conduct regular radio communication tests and inspections with ARFF Watch Tower and ATC, maintaining accurate records.
  • Lead and motivate team members to efficiently accomplish tasks.

Main Performance Indicators
  • Direct and participate in firefighting operations, CFT driving, and domestic fire tender operations to achieve optimal results.
  • Respond to aircraft emergencies with Crash Fire Tender and firefighters, achieving response times stipulated by regulatory authorities.
  • Achieve response and control times during emergency calls, maintaining logbooks and fire vehicle response records.
  • Respond to aircraft refueling standby, fuel spillage, and hazardous materials incidents with Crash Fire Tender and firefighters, mitigating hazards.
  • Respond to domestic fires involving airport buildings and facilities, grass/bush fires, and conduct daily inspections of fire vehicles for roadworthiness and serviceability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field with a valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License.
  • Basic Firefighting certification from Aviation Fire Training Centre.
