Senior Electrical Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to contribute to the design, engineering, and documentation of electrical and instrumentation systems in oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have an M-Tech in Engineering and at least 5 years of hands-on experience working on complex electrical and instrumentation systems, particularly within the oil and gas sector. The E&I Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical and instrumentation systems, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring the effective execution of projects while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Engineering: Lead the design, specification, and selection of electrical and instrumentation systems for oil and gas projects, including power distribution systems, control systems, instrumentation, and automation solutions.
2. Project Execution: Work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective execution of E&I designs, meeting project milestones and client specifications.
3. System Design & Integration: Develop and integrate electrical and instrumentation systems, including power supplies, protection systems, field instrumentation, control systems, and SCADA systems, ensuring compatibility and functionality with other project systems.
4. Documentation: Prepare and review technical documentation, including design calculations, equipment specifications, control panel designs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and instrumentation datasheets. Ensure all documentation is in compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, etc.) as well as internal company procedures and quality requirements.
6. Cost Estimation & Scheduling: Assist in the preparation of project cost estimates, schedules, and resource plans for E&I work packages, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and safety.
7. Vendor & Equipment Selection: Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate vendors and equipment for electrical and instrumentation systems based on technical specifications, cost, and schedule.
8. System Commissioning: Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring systems are tested, validated, and operate according to design specifications.
9. Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support for the operation and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems during the construction and operational phases of projects.
10. Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to electrical and instrumentation design and implementation and provide solutions to mitigate them, ensuring safe and reliable system operations.
11. Mentorship & Training: Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment and ensuring adherence to best engineering practices and company standards.

1. Educational Qualifications: M-Tech in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
3. Technical Skills:
4. Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation system design, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation for industrial applications.
5. Experience with industry-standard software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, MATLAB, or similar tools for design and documentation).
6. Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design principles, including wiring diagrams, control logic, and instrumentation specifications.
7. Familiarity with safety, regulatory standards, and codes relevant to the oil and gas industry (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, etc.).

1. Experience working on electrical and instrumentation systems for offshore platforms, refineries, or petrochemical plants.
2. Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
3. Knowledge of SCADA, DCS, or PLC systems and instrumentation in hazardous areas.
4. Experience with advanced simulation and design software tools.
