Job Opportunity:

Lead Well Delivery Specialist

This critical role oversees the successful execution of well delivery projects from conceptualization to readiness. The specialist will integrate subsurface knowledge with drilling and completion technologies tailored for Coal Bed Methane (CBM) fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive well planning activities, including location selection support, to ensure optimal well placement.
  • Develop detailed well designs, including casing, cementing, well trajectory, and mud programs, in alignment with reservoir and geo-mechanical models.
  • Prepare Basis of Design (BoD), risk registers, and contingency plans to mitigate potential risks.
  • Design cost-optimized completions for CBM production, ensuring maximum resource utilization.

Engineering & Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage drilling and completion budgets, monitoring actual expenses versus allocated funds.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to select equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement new CBM-relevant technologies to enhance well delivery efficiency.

Operational Support:

  • Provide real-time technical support during drilling, casing, cementing, and completions operations.
  • Conduct thorough post-well reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with subsurface teams to optimize well targeting and zonal optimization strategies.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including HSE, land access, and surface facility teams, to ensure seamless project execution.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all well designs adhere to regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for permits and approvals, guaranteeing compliance with industry regulations.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead a team of well engineers and mentor junior staff members, fostering growth and development.
  • Manage interfaces with consultants, contractors, and service providers to maintain effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of upstream oil and gas experience, with at least 3 years specifically in CBM operations.
  • Proven expertise in well design and engineering for low-pressure, unconventional gas wells.
