**Job Summary:**

This position is part of a respected accounting services firm under the umbrella of a leading financial organization. We are seeking an experienced accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.

Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

**Key Responsibilities:

• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts

• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results

• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status

• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

• Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers

• Prepare financial statements

• Assist with tax audits and tax returns

• Plan, assign, and review staff's work

• Support month-end and year-end close process

• Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles

• Liaise with our Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures

**Delivery management: **

• Proven experience as an accountant

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

• In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP)

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages

• Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

**Skills and Qualifications:**

• Degree in Accounting or Finance

• Relevant certification will be preferred

• General computer skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Multitasking capacity

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently

• Responsible, reliable, great team player, and positive under any circumstances
