Operational Risk Management Job Description

This job is focused on leading and managing independent projects across various operational risk management areas, such as internal control assessments, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies, third-party risk management, incident management and reporting, loss data, and business continuity for financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage independent projects to achieve strategic objectives, ensure timely completion, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Develop and implement effective SOPs and policies to mitigate risks, improve processes, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential risks, evaluate their likelihood and impact, and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
  • Manage third-party relationships to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, assess potential risks, and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Incident management and reporting to identify, analyze, and contain incidents, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Loss data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to mitigate future losses.
  • Business continuity planning to ensure the organization's ability to continue operating during and after disruptions, and maintain essential services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of operational risk management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify complex problems, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders, build relationships, and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in GRC tools, such as MetricStream, SAP GRC, etc., to manage risks, automate processes, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and circumstances.
  • Global mobility and willingness to travel, if required.
