Lead Mobile Development Team

As a skilled tech lead, you will drive our mobile development team in building cutting-edge mobile applications.

This is an opportunity for high-impact technical leadership with formal people management responsibilities. You'll manage a remote team of engineers while taking ownership of the systems behind Zeller's Mobile App and Point of Sale software.

About the Team

Our mobile team develops and scales customer-facing mobile applications that empower businesses. Your new team works with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and others to build and enhance the Zeller Mobile App and Zeller Point of Sale products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive architectural solutions collaboratively with your team and engineering leadership.
  • Write production code regularly as a core contributor while maintaining oversight of your team's technical deliverables.
  • Own operational excellence for your team's systems, including monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
  • Champion modern development practices, including active use of LLMs within your team.
Requirements
  • You have owned solution design for complex features within mobile apps before and have worked with applications used at scale.
  • You have worked in product-driven companies and have a track record of driving pace and delivery.
  • You are experienced in mobile system design and demonstrate well-reasoned decision making.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have a strong self-learning drive and are actively using generative AI tools.
Technical Background

You should be comfortable writing production React Native code, but experience with our full tech-stack is not expected. Some tools we use:

  • React Native for cross-platform mobile development.
  • A modern graphql based api.
  • Extensive application monitoring tools.
  • A serverless, event driven system architecture running on AWS.
