Job Title: Staff Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced staff engineer to join our team. As a staff engineer, you will be responsible for defining specifications and requirements for product hardware, conducting design reviews, and monitoring development to ensure compliance with electrical, environmental, and functional standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Define specifications and requirements for product hardware, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.

  2. Conduct comprehensive design reviews, including high-level system integration, to ensure that all components meet the required technical standards.

  3. Monitor development progress and create test plans to verify electrical, environmental, and functional compliance, ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations.

  4. Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to evaluate reliability and identify potential safety or liability concerns related to the product.

  5. Coordinate and track product development milestones with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

  6. Oversee Design for Excellence (DFX) updates, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and product life cycle management to optimize product performance and reduce costs.

  7. Mentor junior engineers on design principles and best practices, ensuring that established technical standards are adhered to during product development.

  8. Research new development concepts and technologies to guide future product innovation and stay ahead of industry trends.

  9. Identify cost-competitive technological alternatives suitable for scaling up and validate design concepts through circuit simulations and prototyping.

  10. Prepare documentation, including bills of materials, circuit diagrams, simulations, and FMEAs, to support product development and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's degree in Power Electronics or related field, with 8-12 years of experience in power electronics design and development.
  • Strong understanding of closed-loop control for power converters and compensator design, with expertise in high-speed or high-power semiconductor devices.
  • Experience with analog and digital electronics, circuit simulation tools like SIMULINK, and derating, FMEA, and reliability analysis.
  • Excellent circuit debugging and troubleshooting capabilities, with strong knowledge of component selection and system integration.
  • Good communication skills, with experience mentoring small teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
