Job Title: Mainframe COBOL Developer

Job Description

As a skilled Mainframe COBOL Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing COBOL applications to meet business requirements. You will work with the development team to identify and prioritize project goals and deliverables.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. COBOL Programming:
  • Develop and maintain high-performance COBOL applications.
  • Write, test, and debug COBOL code.
  • Modify and update existing COBOL applications.
Database Management:
  • Design and develop DB2 queries to interact with databases.
  • Integrate COBOL programs with DB2 for data retrieval, insertion, and updating.
  • Ensure database integrity and handle SQL optimization.
File Management:
  • Work with VSAM files to store and retrieve data efficiently.
  • Ensure that COBOL programs interact seamlessly with VSAM files.
  • Perform file management tasks such as creating, deleting, and maintaining VSAM datasets.
Transaction Processing:
  • Develop and maintain CICS-based applications.
  • Optimize transaction processing in a CICS environment.
  • Debug and resolve any issues related to CICS transactions.

  • Proficiency in COBOL programming language.
  • Knowledge of DB2, VSAM, and CICS technologies.
