Contracting Strategy Manager Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Contracting Strategy Manager to formulate and implement effective contracting strategies, manage relationships with contractors, and administer contracts from award to completion. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and market intelligence.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement Contracting Strategies: Formulate and execute strategic plans to minimize risk and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  2. Contractor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, negotiate terms and conditions, and administer contracts.
  3. Market Research: Conduct research to identify potential vendors and negotiate prices and services.
  4. Tendering Process: Lead the tendering process for surface facilities, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Contract Drafting: Draft complex, legally binding contracts related to surface facilities.
  6. Technical Advice: Provide expert guidance to minimize risk and ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  7. Procurement Process Ownership: Own the procurement process, including strategic sourcing, subcontracting, vendor management, and drafting of prequalification criteria, tenders, and evaluation criteria.
  8. Client Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 12-15 years professional contract/procurement experience, including tendering, sourcing, contract negotiation, contract management, and monitoring and reporting contract performance.
  • Good knowledge of handling surface facility contracting, market intelligence on availability of yards, steel, pipeline, LLI for facilities, and respective legal terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Digital sourcing platforms such as SAP and Ariba.
