Role Description

We are seeking a Freelance Data Engineer with hands-on expertise in MongoDB, Python, and healthcare standards like HL7/FHIR. The ideal candidate will build and automate ETL pipelines, integrate healthcare data into MongoDB, and implement real-time automation for clinical workflows.


Key Responsibilities:

  • MongoDB Development:
  • Design, configure, and optimize MongoDB databases.
  • Implement advanced features like replica sets, indexing, and sharding for performance and scalability.
  • Healthcare Data Integration:
  • Extract, transform, and load clinical data (HL7, FHIR, X12) into MongoDB.
  • Develop workflows to standardize and validate healthcare data.
  • API Development & Automation:
  • Develop Python-based APIs for real-time data automation and ingestion.
  • Enable seamless integration between clinical systems and MongoDB.
  • ETL Pipelines:
  • Design and automate ETL workflows for large-scale healthcare data.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize pipelines for efficiency.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand clinical workflows and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Provide documentation for data processes and automations.


Mandatory Skills:

  • MongoDB (advanced-level experience with sharding, clustering, and performance optimization).
  • Python scripting with PyMongo for database automation.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL design and automation.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare standards: HL7, FHIR, CCDA, and X12.


Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Firestore, or Dataflow).
  • Familiarity with clinical systems and EMR/EHR integrations.
  • Exposure to real-time automation frameworks.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with MongoDB and ETL workflows.
  • Proven experience integrating healthcare data with NoSQL databases.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
