A pioneer IT institution in Kathmandu Nepal is looking for a Academic Head to join them. Job Title:                               : Academic HeadDepartment                            : AcademicsReports To                             : Chief Operating Officer Job PurposeThe Academic Head is responsible for providing academic leadership and ensuring the effective planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the institution’s academic programs. The role requires strategic oversight of curriculum development, teaching quality, and regulatory compliance, alongside the hands-on coordination of day-to-day academic operations. The position supports the advancement of faculty development, enhances student learning outcomes, and ensures alignment with institutional goals and academic standards.  Key Responsibilities and Duties Academic Governance & Oversight:·    Provide academic leadership in the development, implementation, and review of academic policies, processes, and programs.·    Oversee academic planning, program structuring, and course delivery to ensure relevance, quality, and regulatory compliance.·    Coordinate the design, periodic review, and enhancement of academic offerings in alignment with institutional strategy and industry trends.·    Lead and support the preparation of academic reports and documentation for internal and external audits, regulatory bodies, and academic boards. Faculty Management & Development:·    Take a lead role in the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of academic staff.·    Facilitate and ensure periodic faculty evaluations and provide constructive feedback and development plans.·    Promote a culture of teaching excellence and support continuous pedagogical development.Operational Academic Coordination:·    Supervise the preparation and timely dissemination of academic calendars, timetables, and course schedules in collaboration with Program Leaders.·    Monitor and coordinate academic routines and classroom delivery across programs.·    Ensure proper documentation, archival, and verification of academic records.·    Support examination planning and coordination in collaboration with the exam team. Student Learning & Engagement:·    Monitor academic performance and provide support for academic interventions to enhance student success.·    Facilitate student feedback mechanisms and ensure follow-up actions are implemented to improve the learning experience.·    Oversee the implementation of academic advising, mentoring, and academic support services. Quality Assurance & Accreditation:·    Ensure institutional compliance with academic standards, university guidelines, and accreditation requirements.·    Lead internal academic audits and contribute to quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement processes.·    Develop and maintain metrics to evaluate academic effectiveness. Research & Scholarly Contributions:·    Encourage faculty and student involvement in research and scholarly activities.·    Promote collaboration in research initiatives with academic partners, industry, and community stakeholders.·    Monitor research output and provide strategic support for scholarly publication and innovation. Other Responsibilities:·    Teach assigned modules, as per approved workload distribution.·    Participate in institutional committees and represent the academic unit in internal and external forums.·    Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or senior management. ****************************************************************************************************** Important Note: The duties and responsibilities outlined in this document represent the core functions of the position.
