Follow @Kennametal: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.Job Title: Lead Administrator Location: Bengaluru Job Type: Full-TimeExperience Level: 10–15About the Role:We are seeking a versatile and motivated Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a foundational understanding of Active Directory, coupled with hands-on experience in both Windows and Linux environments on on-prem and cloud(Azure). The ideal candidate will bring a diverse platform skill set, a strong automation mindset, and the ability to collaborate across teams and drive improvements in infrastructure delivery.This is a strategic role that supports our infrastructure modernization journey. Candidates who have worked on infrastructure automation (preferably using Ansible) and demonstrated the ability to lead or mentor teams will find this role especially rewarding.Key Responsibilities:• Support and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including user/group management, policies, and integration with other services.• Manage and troubleshoot systems across both Windows and Linux platforms.• Strong Exposure to Cloud (Azure) and Azure services • Build and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and workflows using Ansible (or similar tools like PowerShell DSC, Terraform, etc.).• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to cross-platform infrastructure solutions.• Proactively identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and simplification of existing processes.• Collaborate with application teams, InfoSec, and cloud/infra teams to ensure secure and scalable operations.• Provide guidance to junior team members and potentially lead small initiatives or project streams.Required Skills & Experience:• Solid foundational experience with Active Directory – user administration, group policies, OU structure, and DNS.• Proven hands-on expertise in Windows Server administration and Linux system management (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar).• Strong background in infrastructure automation using Ansible (must-have).• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).• Good understanding of networking concepts, virtualization, and storage fundamentals.• Familiarity with infrastructure, monitoring and patching best practices.Preferred Qualifications:• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD practices, and Infrastructure as Code.• Experience leading or mentoring team members or managing small project teams.• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Equal Opportunity Employer
